We decided, last year, that we would dedicate a portion of our yard to wildflowers. Robert had a vision and purchased all the seeds, planted them and waited. They never showed up, not even a sprout. It was disappointing, to say the least.
This year, miraculously, we began seeing little shoots coming up, all over the place!!! They were confined to a large patch of our back yard, and in that patch, they were coming up and starting to bud! It has been such a delight to see all the gorgeous colors and shapes popping up each day.
It brings a smile to our faces knowing that we are not the only ones who are loving these blooms. We've seen lady bugs, butterflies, bees, even hummingbirds (our favorite) admiring, resting on, and flying around the flowers.
We like to call it our Meadow, and are so glad that not every section of our yard is planned out, lined up, shaped up and organized. We love the free flowing look and feel of our back yard meadow. Each year it will look different, we'll get more inspiration, plant more seeds, and just wait and see what miracle happens. It's such a gift to look our our window each day.
We don't know who said it but, "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life," is never more true than just having that feeling while in your own space. You don't need to travel far to see the beauty in this world. As Wayne Dyer once said, "Change the way you see the world, and the world you see will change." Sometimes it's just a small bloom in the middle of nothing to remind us that beauty, determination, courage, and love are right in front of us!!
